What is SettleScan?

SettleScan is a rental search platform that brings listings from major rental sites together in one place. You can search by city, neighbourhood, or address, then use filters for price, bedrooms, property type, and more—without opening every site separately.

Is SettleScan free?

Yes. Searching and browsing is free. We may offer optional paid features from time to time; anything paid will always be clearly labelled before you sign up.

How do I start a search?

Go to the home page, enter a city, area, or address, and open results. Refine with filters on the results page or map.

Listings & sources

Where do listings come from?

We aggregate from trusted public rental sources. When you open a listing, we send you to the original site or landlord flow for full details, applications, and contact—SettleScan is a discovery layer, not the listing host.

Why do I sometimes see duplicates?

The same home is often posted on more than one site. We may show those together so you can pick the source you prefer or compare details.

How often are listings updated?

Our index refreshes regularly throughout the day. Availability can still change quickly; always confirm on the original listing before relying on a price or “available now” line.

For renters

Can I apply for a rental on SettleScan?

Applications are completed on the original listing site or with the landlord—we don’t replace their process. Use “Open listing” (or equivalent) on a property card to continue there.

How do I know a listing is legitimate?

We work from reputable sources, but scams still exist online. Never pay before you’ve verified the unit and lease; avoid untraceable payments; and report suspicious posts to the site that hosts the listing. See also Payments & safety.

Can I save listings?

Yes. Create an account and use favourites to save homes you like. Open your saved favourites anytime.

Can I get alerts for new listings?

You can set up notifications for areas or criteria you care about (exact options depend on your account and device). Check your account or app settings for alert controls.

Landlords & property managers

How do I get my property on SettleScan?

We aggregate from established listing networks. We don’t offer a self-serve “post my unit” flow for every market. For partnerships or inclusion questions, email hello@settlescan.com or use Work with us / Advertise as appropriate.

Rental swiper

What is the rental swiper?

The swiper is a fast, card-based way to browse rentals—swipe to pass or save, similar to popular discovery apps. It’s meant for quick triage before you dive into filters and maps.

Do I need an account for the swiper?

Yes. Signing in lets us sync your passes and favourites across sessions. Open the swiper from the site navigation when you’re logged in.

Where are my swiper favourites?

Favourites from the swiper appear alongside other saved listings in My favourites. You can clear or manage them from that page where supported.

Recently viewed listings

Listings you open are often tracked in your recently viewed area (web or app) so you can return without searching again.

Payments & safety

Do I pay rent through SettleScan?

No. SettleScan does not collect rent. All payments are between you and the landlord or platform shown on the original listing.

How can I avoid rental scams?

Visit the unit (or use verified virtual tours from trusted hosts), read the lease carefully, pay through traceable methods when possible, and be wary of pressure to send deposits immediately. Report fraud to the hosting site and local authorities when appropriate.

Can a listing still be fraudulent?

We mirror what partners publish; we can’t guarantee every third-party post. Treat unknown contacts with caution and verify before sending money or personal documents.

Account & settings

Do I need an account to search?

You can browse and search in many cases without signing in. Saving favourites, some alerts, and the swiper typically require an account.

How do I reset my password?

Use “Forgot password?” on the sign-in flow and follow the email link to set a new password.
